OceanWatch compiled a series of recommendations for protecting fish habitat post-bushfires in a Fish Habitat Protection Protocol. This protocol is aimed at helping OceanWatch Australia, regional NRM organisations, the seafood industry and coastal communities increase the resilience of aquatic ecosystems to the impacts of future bushfire events. The document includes a series of recommendations that have become the foundation of several current projects.
