Problem: Often bridges, weirs, culverts, floodgates and even tracks across small streams, create barriers for fish and aquatic life. Although water maybe connect 2 locations, other less obvious barriers such as the waters speed through the obstacle, temperature or pH may prevent passage.
Outcome: Tide to Table projects have removed or modified obstacles to allow easier movement for the native fish species present. This takes the form of removal of the obstacle, adaptations to existing infrastructure or engineering solutions such as new pipes, bridges or culverts. Each has to be designed to the site location.
