OceanWatch Australia Ltd (OWA), an environmental not-for-profit company, limited by guarantee, is committed to protecting and enhancing fish habitat and water quality and advancing the sustainability of fisheries. We are a non-government organisation that has both charity and deductible gift recipient status with the Australian Taxation Office and which is listed on the Register of Environmental Organisations.
OWA is a national organisation that operates across all scales (local, regional, state and national) to achieve sustainability is the Australian seafood industry by taking action on priority coastal and marine issues impacting on, or resulting from fishing activities.
OceanWatch Australia operates a lean, value for money operation, with its head office based at the Sydney Fish Market. It has a voluntary Board of Directors. OWA relies on government and private sponsorship to run its programs and activities. OWA has an excellent track record of managing programs and projects and has been running various programs since its establishment in 1989. A portion of OWA's core operational funding comes from a voluntary contribution made by the NSW seafood industry.
OWA is able to tailor specific programs for corporate sponsors or have a number of existing programs that can be built upon with additional sponsor investment.
